About this Jrny

Ladakh, with its stark Himalayan beauty and high mountain passes, offers the ultimate self-drive adventure through one of India’s most dramatic landscapes. Start your journey in Jispa, a peaceful village nestled in the mountains, reached via the lush green Kullu Valley and the engineering marvel of the Atal Tunnel. From Jispa, steer into the heart of the Himalayas, crossing iconic high-altitude passes like Baralacha La and Tanglang La, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and otherworldly terrain.

Reach Leh, a vibrant town steeped in culture and history. Explore ancient monasteries perched on cliffs, walk through bustling markets, and take in sweeping views from centuries-old palaces. Navigate the challenging ascent to Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes, and descend into the Nubra Valley, where stark mountains meet golden sand dunes. Visit the grand Diskit Monastery and feel the rush of ATV rides across the desert-like landscape of Hunder.

Continue driving east to Pangong Tso, a high-altitude lake that changes colour with the light and reflects the rugged beauty surrounding it. Camp by its shores or simply soak in the stillness. From there, chart a route to Hanle, one of India’s most remote villages, known for its crystal-clear night skies and the Indian Astronomical Observatory—perfect for stargazing.

Push onward to Umling La, among the highest motorable roads on Earth, where the thin air and breathtaking views remind you just how far you’ve come. Descend back to Leh, and begin the return drive through the same dramatic routes, closing the loop in Chandigarh.

Experience Ladakh up close on the road—every pass, valley, and lake etched into memory by the journey itself. This isn’t just a drive; it’s an expedition through some of the planet’s most raw and majestic terrain.
