A Day in Kathmandu

The tour starts and ends in Kathmandu. You should arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (Code: KTM), where the journey begins. Your international departure should also be arranged from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (Code: KTM), at the end of the pilgrimage.

All travellers must carry a valid passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of return. Indian citizens travelling for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra do not require a visa for Nepal but must carry a valid passport. A Chinese Group Visa and Tibet Travel Permit are mandatory for entry into Tibet, and these are arranged in advance as part of the pilgrimage process. Foreign nationals require visas for both Nepal and China/Tibet prior to travel. Travellers must also carry multiple passport-sized photographs and any required medical or fitness declarations as advised before departure. Travellers are responsible for ensuring they carry the correct and valid travel documents throughout the journey.

No mandatory vaccinations are required for this journey. We advise you to check with your doctor in case you have any personal medical requirements or health considerations, especially due to high-altitude travel. There wilI is also recommended to consult your local clinic or doctor a few weeks before departure to stay updated on any changes in health or vaccination recommendations. A basic medical check-up before the journey, along with your doctor’s certificate, will be required. We will share the details with you once you book the journey.

Yes, shared group transfers are included in this tour. These transfers will be shared with you before your travel.

There are no activities scheduled for the first day. The standard check-in time at the hotel would be 1400 hrs, and you can plan your arrival accordingly

You can depart anytime. Generally, there are no inclusions on the tour on the last day. The hotel check-out time is usually 11:00 hrs or 12 noon.

Accomodation in this route is extremely limited due to the remoteness of the region.Most stays will be simple guesthouses.Single occupancy is not available.

During the parikrama days, facilities will be very basic. Toilet access will be limited as the route passes through remote, high-altitude terrain.The accommodation will be shared, with up to six participants staying in the same room during the parikrama time.

Please read through the itinerary in detail to understand the intensity of the activities planned, especially the high-altitude travel and trekking during the Mount Kailash Parikrama. This is one of the toughest high altitude journey and you must be physically fit .Overall, for this journey, on a scale from 1–5, a fitness level of 4 would be ideal to comfortably manage the walking distances, altitude conditions, and long driving days.

It’s an overland journey, so expect longer drives along the route.Please refer to the daily activities in the itinerary, where the driving distances, durations, and trekking details for each day are clearly mentioned. The longest drives on this journey are approximately 7–8 hours across the Tibetan plateau, particularly between Saga and Lake Manasarovar and during the return drive to Saga, depending on road and weather conditions. The itinerary also includes the Mount Kailash Parikrama, featuring treks of approximately 12 km on Day 1, 22 km on Day 2 across the Drolma La Pass, and a shorter 8 km walk on the final day.

Only Vegetarian option will be available, but might be somewhat limited.

May to September is a favourable time for the Kailash Mansarovar journey, with generally clear skies and expansive mountain views across Nepal and the Tibetan plateau. Daytime temperatures typically range between 10°C and 20°C, while mornings, evenings, and higher-altitude areas such as Dirapuk and Drolma La Pass can drop below freezing. Weather conditions in the Himalayas can change quickly, with occasional wind, cold temperatures, and possible light rain or snowfall at higher elevations. Overall, the season offers suitable conditions for pilgrimage activities, scenic drives, and trekking, provided travellers are prepared for varying mountain weather.
