Day 1

Arrival at Amman

We touch down at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman — and immediately feel the hum of possibility. As soon as we land, our friendly local rep meets us, helping us breeze through visa formalities like seasoned travel monkeys (yep, that’s us!). Then, we hop into our ride and zoom off to our hotel in Amman. The city unfurls around us — a tapestry of ancient stones and modern hustle.

Once settled, we unwind at the hotel, letting the jet lag melt away. Dinner is served at the main restaurant, and we gather around the table, excitedly talking about what’s ahead. Over warm local flavours, we toast to the start of this epic journey together — because travel, for us, is more than seeing new places. It’s about meeting new energy, making new memories, and pushing our own limits.

Fun fact: Did you know Amman was built on seven hills? Legend has it that’s why it has so many viewpoints — perfect for us monkeys to swing by and snap some killer photos in the days to come.

Meals Included: None

Day 2

Amman & Jerash

Amman hits us with that electric mix of old-meets-now—towering hills, chaotic souks, and falafel so good it should have its own passport. We dive straight into the Citadel, perched high like the city’s own time machine, where Hercules’ hand still lies on the ground (fun fact: the original statue would’ve been taller than a giraffe!). The Roman Theatre pulls us right into the spotlight—built in the 2nd century, yet the acoustics still slap harder than modern concert halls.

Then we shift gears to Jerash, one of the world’s best-preserved Greco-Roman cities—think “Pompeii of the East” but minus the volcano drama. We wander through colonnaded avenues, stand in the Oval Plaza that looks suspiciously like an ancient Instagram reel setup, and test the acoustics at the South Theatre where performers once entertained crowds of 5,000. Fun fact: Jerash hosts an annual festival where artists from around the world perform in the same spaces Romans once partied in.

By the end of the day, we’re buzzing—history hits different when you're walking through 2,000 years of stories that still echo in the stones. Join us for this wild time-warp adventure.

Day 3

Amman to Petra Via Madaba & Mt. Nebo

We kick off the day like total culture monkeys — first stop, Madaba, home to the world-famous 6th-century mosaic map! It’s tucked into the floor of St. George’s Church and is basically a colourful, ancient GPS of the Holy Land. As we wander over those tiny, glittering tiles, we can’t help but feel tiny ourselves—because, hello, we’re literally walking on history.

Next up, Mount Nebo — a place with spiritual vibes and a killer viewpoint. Legend says this is where Moses caught his last sunset. Standing there, looking across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, you’ll feel like you’re in a storybook. Fun fact: from the peak, on a clear day, you might even glimpse Jerusalem in the distance!

As the afternoon rolls in, we board up to Petra, the rose-red city of wonders. The drive itself feels like a build-up to magic, and when we get there, checking into our hotel feels like claiming a little slice of this timeless place as ours. We dive into the heart of Petra today, and honestly, nothing — absolutely nothing — prepares us for that first glimpse of the Treasury glowing in its iconic rose-red hue. This ancient Nabataean masterpiece feels like a film set that forgot to leave, carved straight into sandstone cliffs more than 2,000 years ago.

As we wander through the Siq, a natural gorge that once funnelled traders and caravans, every curve builds suspense like the world’s most dramatic curtain reveal. Fun fact: Petra was once a buzzing crossroads of spice routes, and archaeologists believe nearly 85% of it is still buried underground… imagine what secrets lie beneath!

We explore tombs, climb viewpoints that leave us breathless in the best way, and take in facades that shift colours with the sun — from dusty pink to deep crimson. The Monastery looms like a guardian at the top, rewarding us with sweeping desert views that feel unreal.

By the time the day ends, Petra stops being a postcard and becomes a memory etched into us — vivid, raw, and utterly unforgettable.

Day 6

Wadi Rum - Dead Sea

Today we check out and head to our Dead Sea hotel — but not just any hotel: we’re descending into the lowest place on Earth. Our destination lies roughly 410 metres below sea level, making this surreal coastline one of the most otherworldly spots on the planet.

As we arrive, you’ll feel like you’re stepping into a dream — the horizon shimmers with salt crystals, and the air feels denser, richer, almost like you’re breathing in supercharged oxygen. Fun fact: at this low elevation, the atmosphere actually has more oxygen than many other spots on Earth!

Once we’re settled, we can dip our toes into the famously buoyant Dead Sea. Because of its extreme salinity — nearly 10× saltier than the ocean — floating here is effortless. Imagine lying back, weightless, gazing at the horizon... pure bliss.

And if you’re up for a little skin-care magic, you can slather on the rich black mud from the shore: ancient cultures have used it for centuries for its healing minerals.

In the evening, we watch the sun melt into the salty sea, feel the calm pressing in, and soak in how profoundly spiritual and timeless this place feels. It’s a moment to pause, float, and reflect — a perfect way to mark the end of this leg of our journey together.

Day 7

Departure from Dead Sea - Amman

Today’s our “chill but wow” kind of morning. We laze around the resort, soaking in the last sunshine, sipping a good breakfast that feels indulgent but deserved. It’s our final few hours in this surreal corner of the world — and yes, we’re making them count. Then, we pack (a little sadly), wave goodbye to the dead-calm beauty around us, and head off to Amman airport.

Even though we’re flying home, we’re leaving with hearts full, minds buzzing, and suitcases packed with memories (and probably some extra luggage of goofy souvenirs). Fun fact: the Dead Sea region sits about 430 metres below sea level — the lowest exposed land on Earth! That’s wild, right? And just like that, our epic canyon-crater adventure wraps up. But don’t worry: we’re already plotting where the next Monkey Inc expedition might take us.
