Arrive at Helsinki International Airport (HEL), where our representative welcomes you in the arrivals hall after immigration and luggage collection, holding a signboard with your name. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and a moment to relax after your journey.

Later, join a tasty walking tour of Helsinki, lasting a couple of hours and covering several stops where you sample Finnish cuisine and discover how design shapes everyday life in the city. The pace is gentle, with plenty to eat, so come hungry and curious, and leave feeling sated and inspired.

Ivalo is a small town in northern Finland, in the Inari region, serving as a gateway to the vast wilderness of Finnish Lapland. Nestled along the Ivalo River, it is surrounded by pristine forests, sparkling lakes, and the remarkable beauty of the Arctic tundra.

Upon arrival in Ivalo, transfer by coach to Inari, a peaceful village set within breathtaking Lapland landscapes. After settling in, embrace the sauna experience at Aurora Village, where warm wooden interiors, soothing heat, and Arctic stillness create the perfect introduction to Lapland.

The tour's highlight is the 3 km long safari, where you get to be the musher yourself, in other words, control the team of huskies towing the sledge.

The tour starts and ends in Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL). It is the main gateway for travellers arriving in the capital city.

All travellers will require a valid passport to enter Finland. The passport should have a validity for at least six months beyond the completion of travel. Most travellers will require a visa for entry into the EU/Schengen area which Finland is part of. Please check with the nearest Embassy or Consulate as immigration laws are very strict and entry may be refused. Many of our travellers do travel alone as our JRNYs provide an opportunity to meet and share experiences with like-minded people. We normally pair up solo travellers, but if you would like to have your single room, we offer that. There will be a supplement cost for the single room.

Children under 12 are not allowed on this Jrny. Children above 12 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Please read through the itinerary in detail to understand the intensity of the activities planned. Outdoor adventures in Inari and Rovaniemi, such as snow activities and northern lights excursions, may require a higher level of fitness. Overall for the tour on a scale from 1 - 5, a fitness level of 3 would be ideal.

Normally, yes! In some cases if the exact hotels are unavailable for any reason, we'll make sure you're put up in hotels that are equivalent to the original in terms of location and facilities. Rest assured, your stay will be as promised.

Absolutely, a variety of vegetarian meal options will be available. Vegan options may be limited but available.

We try and cater to other diet restrictions as much as possible. But, we do focus on regional local cuisine. So there will be limitations. Please write to [email protected] with your booking number in the subject line to inform us well in advance of any such restrictions.

While the itinerary involves a flight from Helsinki to Ivalo and return back to Helsinki, potentially covering a significant distance. However, driving between Inari and Rovaniemi, both situated in Finnish Lapland, may require a relatively long journey. The longest drive in this tour approx 4 hrs (depending on traffic).

In April & November, when visiting Arctic Finland, it's essential to dress warmly to combat the cold temperatures and potential snowfall. Essential items include an insulated jacket, thermal layers, waterproof boots, gloves, a warm hat, and scarves. Layered clothing is key to adjusting to varying temperatures, and don't forget indoor attire for city exploration in Helsinki. Consider optional snow gear if planning winter sports activities.

The weather in Finland is temperate, experiencing cold winters and mild summers. Inari and Rovaniemi, located in Finnish Lapland, have a subarctic climate with extremely cold winters, abundant snowfall, and short, mild summers. Travellers should be prepared for sub-zero temperatures and potential snowfall, especially during the winter months, and dress accordingly for a diverse range of weather conditions.

From 90 - 46 days from the date of travel: 30% cancellation charges will be levied

45 days or less from the date of travel: 100% cancellation charges will be levied.
